Skin Rejuvenation with Dermal injectables BELOTERO® REVIVE/Profhilo

I am Nurse Olive, a highly skilled and experienced registered nurse/midwife with a profound commitment to aesthetics.

My journey began with a degree in General Nursing from Barrington Hospital Limerick in 1982, marking the commencement of a career that spanned various hospitals and clinics across Ireland, the UK, and Australia.

While working in a Private Plastic hospital in Potts Point, Sydney, I discovered my passion for aesthetics. Specializing in HA injectable skin treatments, my focus extends to anti-aging and collagen-stimulating procedures, including Belotero Revive and Profhilo.

With a reputation as a highly skilled and trusted aesthetic nurse, I prioritize a patient-focused approach. Every interaction begins with an in-depth consultation, allowing me to understand my patient's concerns, goals, and expectations. This forms the basis for a bespoke treatment plan, delivering natural and long-lasting results tailored to their specific needs.

Dedicated to my patients and passionate about my work, I stay abreast of the latest techniques and technologies. This commitment ensures that my patients receive the safest, most effective, and advanced treatments available.

My training in dermal skin boosters, akin to moisturizing your skin from within, sets the stage for excellence. Our choice of cross-linked Hyaluronic acid boosters, notably BELOTERO® REVIVE, represents the gold standard. This light injectable Hyaluronic Acid gel, enriched with glycerol, a potent hydrating agent, distinguishes itself by offering a 6-month duration—resulting in bi-annual clinic visits for our valued patients.

BELOTERO® REVIVE

BELOTERO® REVIVE is a skin revitalising injectable treatment that hydrates and rejuvenates the skin without giving any unwanted volume. BELOTERO® REVIVE treats the early signs of photo damage by rehydrating the skin, improving elasticity and firmness and smoothing superficial fine lines by reducing skin roughness.
The benefits include:

  • This fabulous product treats the early signs of sun damage as well as signs of ageing.

  • Rehydrates dry skin from within.

  • Improves elasticity and radiance.

  • Reduces skin pigmentation (discoloration, often caused by sun exposure).

  • Reduces redness.

  • Promotes firmer and springy skin.

  • Smooths superficial fine lines because the product spreads well.

  • Reduces skin roughness and creates a softer texture.

  • Helps sun-damaged skin by stimulating collagen.

Each Syringe holds 1ml of product, and each treatment uses anything between 1-3 syringes. We believe starting conservatively is the best way , adding at the follow up visit- rather than doing too much , too quickly. The fee is determined by the amount of pre agreed syringes used, consent signed, and pre arranged discussion.

Trust in Nurse Olive for a professional and caring aesthetic journey. Your beauty, our expertise.

Common Queries and Concerns

  • Belotero Revive - The fee will range from €360 to €450 per 1 ml syringe depending on the area treated. 1 or 2 syringes is usual. When you return to review a few weeks later , and require more added, this is an additional fee. This return visit is entirely optional but advised. The average treatment is €720 for a regular Belotero Revive treatment.

Profhilo treatments is €295 per area. 2 l-3 visits are required 4 weeks apart initially, then 3-4 monthly visits to maintain.

    Smaller faces take less.

Remember, the fee is determined per syringe used.

Ask us about our weekly/monthly payment plans *.

*plan to be commenced before your treatment date. It is a direct debit legal agreement . Set up fee is €13, with no further interest over a 3 or 6 month period.

  • No

  • We want to add product conservatively to avoid a “too done” look which is a circle back from 5 yrs ago when a “work done” look was desired. To look rested, dewy and fresher is our wish for you. We want you to look just like you before you lost the volume.

Your skin will be rejuvenated, shadowed areas softened, plus collagen is stimulated.

In other words, your skin is hydrated from WITHIN.

Your routine topical skin care continues and two visits to us per year is expected to stave off the aesthetics of further aging as time progresses.

  • Yes, but not as you know it. This formulation is thinner to plump out the skin, and not change who you are.

It creates a younger appearance of yourself.

  • Yes, if it’s required in hollowed ageing areas like flattened cheeks or fill in the hollows beside marionette lines. It’s a different product from the same range- therefore a new syringe ( and incurring an additional fee). There are 5 different Belotero products , and for now I will be using two- skin boosters and volumiser. This includes vermilion border enhancement ,barcode line softening, plumping of marionette lines, nasolabial line fillers and cheek plumping.

  • It’s very versatile and can be used all over the face.

The perioral area (the upper lip lines/barcodes) can be plumped out - but there could be some bruising in this sensitive area.

  • Usually 1-2 weeks once it settles into the skin however after 2 days there will be a noticeable difference. You are invited back 3-4 weeks after treatment to add more product if you want more (this is a chargeable fee).

  • Everyone's skin is different but 6-7 months is the usual time frame - some significantly less, and some more. Twice a year visits are expected to maintain freshness.

  • Depending on your skin condition at the outset, we may recommend a course of treatments/plan initially (after 2-4 weeks) to help achieve a long term effect. We then expect you to return twice a year. This would be discussed at consultation before embarking on this path. It is not a “one and done” treatment.

  • No, nothing can do that because we are getting older, not younger (!) and with each passing decade our faces lose volume due to the gradual deterioration of the scaffolding under our skin - the muscle mass loses strength, the fat pads in our cheeks lose volume and even our skull bones deteriorate. You may feel your face is ‘caving’ in- and it probably is. What BELOTERO fillers do is temporarily replace that lost volume with its range of 5 different products - all designed for different areas of the face- skin, cheeks, lips, chin, barcode lines, nasolabial lines, marionette lines and so on. These fillers attract water to the injected area and the body processes it naturally as it’s normally in our skin anyway.

  • The formulation of BELOTERO® REVIVE gives a boost far faster than other brands, plus it contains moisturise glycerol and an added welcomed side effect of collagen stimulation!

  • BELOTERO® REVIVE is particularly good for this as it stimulates collagen production in this area thus softening the appearance of the pigmentation.

Results can vary and may take over 2 weeks to see.

  • Yes. Here’s a good video to watch regarding the same BELOTERO brand but a different formulation. We hope to bring your face back to what you looked like before you lost the volume, and not look odd, too done or look like everyone else’s mid face. Your face as a whole is assessed and a bespoke plan for yourself is formulated. We will advise how you wish to proceed is entirely up to you.

The more syringes used the higher the fee, but nothing will be done unless you agree.

  • Each needle is tiny, so no.

Chin/cheek areas, we use cannula - so it’s one entry point and the product is fanned under the skin- this means you don’t have lots of puncture points. This is cleaned up before you leave- and there’s tiny swellings at the insertion site- which take 60 min to settle-no one would know! The site heals in a day or two- no different to vaccination entry point, but with the smallest needle imaginable. Most clients leave the clinic and go about their business, no one would know only yourself. A little foundation or lipstick the following day camouflages any soft light bruising (this can occur but not often).

  • Quite possibly, but it’s so light it’s easily covered with foundation for a few days. The vermillion border and bar code lines are more likely to bruise than the face. Cheek sculpting/plumping also has very slight bruising - all normal.

A little foundation covers any light bruising.

  • We use numb cream occasionally and use mostly an ice pack to help comfort. The injection is so fast - with a tinier needle than diabetics use.

You feel pressure as the product is injected in, more of a tingle. It includes anaesthetic so keeps you comfortable too. This can sound ‘ crackly’ as it’s placed into the interstitial cells, but nothing to worry about. As the injection lasts nothing longer than a vaccine administration (with numbing) no one complains! REVIVE does not contain pain relievers but the injection is so quick it’s barely noticed. An ice pack is applied before the injection, so ice numbing is very effective.

  • It’s the gold standard product in HA. At our clinic, we want to integrate the Rolls Royce standard of brands into our services. The quality is top notch and FDA approved. In training with this product I chose the best to continue in the same high standard of quality care that I am known for.

  • No! A face lift is a surgical procedure under anaesthetics. Dermal fillers are skin deep, gradually softening treatment that requires 6 monthly visits to maintain. If you are looking for a face lift we can redirect you to a suitable plastic surgeon.

It’s better to look older than ‘weirder’ with too much filler, this is why we will adopt a conservative approach and cautiously to maintain what you looked like before you lost volume in your face.

  • Item descriptionIt’s bridal season EVERY MONTH!

Here’s a rough guide on your injectable glow that we advise .

Get yourself a facialist to plan your year prior to the big day and keep your scheduled appointments.

    Then:

    8 months to go-Injectables.

If you’re hoping to try out injectables ahead of your wedding, the best thing to do is give yourself plenty of time prior to the big event.

6-8 months is a good amount of time for your practitioner to understand your concerns and expectations, create a treatment plan and get started for optimum results.

    6 months to go-

    Your planned Facials.

If regular facials are something you are planning to integrate into your pre-wedding skin-care routine, 6 months gives your facialist time to get to know your skin, and help with any complexion concerns, and plenty of time for your skin to respond to the treatments.

Will you start Retinoids by night?

It can take several weeks and often months to start seeing the positive effects of retinol.

6 months out is ideal because retinol can often cause dryness, mild irritation, flaking, and purging during the first month, and starting well ahead of the big day will give your skin ample time to get adjusted.

    4-8 weeks prior :

    Final injectables appointment .

This will be dependent on Nurse Olives advice, but generally speaking, when doing any injectables, the last appointment should be no less than 4-8 weeks prior to your wedding day.

This gives plenty of time for any bruising or swelling to settle and for the treatment to take effect.

Thanks to Dr Alexis Granite UK for this very helpful timeline.

    Keep your appointments.

It’s a labour of love, but the glow on your big day will be worth all the effort.

  • No, but they are softened and minimized with BELOTERO® REVIVE or Volume. Some injectors add Botox (we don’t do Botox) to this area to stop the upper lip moving. This can make clients look rather odd, unable to suck through a straw and dribble when taking a drink. This area bruises slightly as there are several injection points - for each line.

Foundation camouflage this area nicely whilst it takes 2 weeks to settle into the interstitial cells.

  • Not yet, but perhaps in the future. It’s very specialised, as lips are full of nerves and blood supply. Lip plumping is risky and carries an increased chance of vascular occlusion and accidental lip tissue compromise. We can however enhance the vermillion border to give definition to the upper lip border (this border pales and shrinks as we age), and we can help minimise bar code lines (smokers lines) on the upper lip. The needle is placed so superficially under the skin it involves a way to reduce risk of complications. Giving volume and plumpness to lips is not something we offer right now.
